Painter – Assisted Living Community
The Converse Home, a well-established nonprofit assisted living community, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. This role is essential in helping us maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents by preparing and refreshing resident rooms and common areas.
Position Overview:
The Painter is responsible for completing room turnovers and light repairs to ensure spaces are move-in ready in a timely manner. This position works closely with maintenance and housekeeping to support occupancy goals and overall community appearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare resident rooms for turnover, including patching, sanding, caulking, priming, and general minor repairs
- Paint walls, ceilings, trim, and doors using proper techniques and materials
- Repair minor wall damage (holes, cracks, dents) to ensure a smooth, professional finish
- Protect floors, furniture, and fixtures during painting projects
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Complete projects within established timelines
- Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure room readiness
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper handling of paints and chemicals
- Assist with painting in common areas and other facility projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous painting experience preferred
- Knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods)
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
